Devlog #9 - Almost... There...


Progress

So far, we have made it to the middle of march, and I am losing motivation for this game. I think I have what the majority calls "Shiny Object Syndrome", where I get motivated at the very beginning but it slowly goes downhill from there. And now I'm just kinda rushing the game to get it out of the door. 

With that said, there is still some progress being made, the game is still gonna be released by the end of April, and I am still working on it. I have redesigned a few levels that were supposed to be "in the dark" to have more vibrant and less lazy backgrounds. The game right now is in a good state and should be able to hit the April release. All that's left I'd need to do is:

  • Level 5: (still not sure what to do about it)
  • Level 10: Nuclear plant
  • Shop: buy powerups with cards you earn

If after launch, the game does well, I will make updates to it that can add features like "Crash test" mode or "Infinite Arcade" like the original. However, I'd like to see how well the game performs before I pour more hours into it. But don't get too excited. At this point, the code is getting so messy that it may be almost impossible to implement new features. But since this is my first actual "game", it's a learning experience, and I appreciate those followers that have seen me learn through this process.
